Family

Lyndsee and Dominic are a beautiful couple.  That's why it comes to no surprise that their daughter Gianna is such a doll.  Born on December 9, 2011, Gianna is clearly the center of her parents world.

When I first spoke to Lyndsee, Gianna was only ten days old.  Like any new mom, Lyndsee was excited to document the first precious days of Gianna's life.  More than anything, Lyndsee wanted the photographs to have a soft vintage look to them.  I was BEYOND excited about this idea!  I quickly gathered together my collection of hat boxes and longest string of pearls and headed over to meet little Gianna.

Born at 6 pounds and 1 ounce, Gianna was tiny!  Once we wrapped her in soft whites and pale pinks, baby Gianna was ready for her vintage photo shoot!  Check out some of my favorites below!

Gianna is an italian name that mean's God's grace.  I can't think of a more beautiful name for a child.
Nothing makes my heart melt like tiny little toes.

Gianna seemed to pick up on the vibe for the vintage photo shoot as well!  She is a classic beauty in this tweed hat box.

Look at those big beautiful eyes!

I was in love with this small leather couch from the moment I saw it!  It was exactly Gianna's size!
What a sweet smile!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this one!
Almost as cute as tiny toes are little fingers!

I am going to end this post with a sweet photo of baby Gianna in her mother's arms.  Lyndsee and Dominic, your daughter is an absolute doll!  It was such a pleasure to meet your entire family.  I wish you an endless amount of happiness as you embark on this new journey together!

Things are abuzz in the Dale household.  The tree has been put up and the garland has been hung with care.  Tiny Christmas lights shine and beautiful wreaths adorn every door.  Boxes and boxes of presents sit beautifully wrapped under the tree.  As exciting as this time is, Stephanie and John's greatest gift this year came three months earlier.  That's right!  Their first born child, little baby Olivia is here, making this Christmas the best Christmas of all.

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of photographing baby Olivia's Christmas session!  You might remember Olivia's newborn photos, featured on the blog back in October.  Since it is Christmas Eve, I thought this would be the perfect post to share.  I hope these sweet photos warm your heart during this magical time of year.

Stephanie and John already had multiple ornaments to help remind them of Olivia's first Christmas.  This was one of my favorites!
Olivia is BEAUTIFUL...just like her mother.

Stephanie and John are the definition of proud parents!  They can't get enough of their baby girl!
How could you not fall in love with these beautiful big eyes?

Olivia was absolutely glowing!
All wrapped up under the tree, Olivia is her mommy's favorite gift!

When it started to get late, Olivia's dad tucked her into her pjs and made sure she was snuggled up with her favorite bears.
Right before she went to sleep, Olivia smiled, happy to be spending her first Christmas with a family who loves her so much.  As we celebrate together this season, may the wonder of that first Christmas, the joy of God's abundant blessings, and the peace of Jesus' presence be with you always.  Merry Christmas!

One year ago, Kim and Jeff were ready.  The paintings were hung in the nursery and the diapers were stacked high. These soon to be parents had even practiced buckling their build a bear into a brand new car seat.  Kim and Jeff were ready.  Ready for the arrival of their first son.

Devan was born on January 25, 2010, one day after his mother's birthday.  Kim said she couldn't have ask for a better gift.  With ten little fingers and ten tiny toes, Devan was a healthy boy, with parents who loved him very much.  When I asked Kim what surprised her the most about having a child, she said it was the fact that she could go with so little sleep and actually be okay!  "Devan was waking up every two hours those first few months.  I would get up and feed him.  When he started sleeping through the night, I was a little sad!  I missed that extra time with my son!"  Jeff has big plans for Devan.  He dreams of throwing the baseball with his little man one day.  "Devan's got long fingers.  He would make a great pitcher!"  One thing is for sure, Devan is truly loved.

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Devan for his 1st birthday!  He was clearly excited for his hungry caterpillar themed party next weekend, smiling every time he saw his favorite book.  Enjoy a peek into this beautiful family's life below.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar is Devan's favorite book.  Kim and Jeff have done a great job preparing the cutest touches for Devan's themed party next Saturday, thanks to Etsy.

With those big eyes and a beautiful smile, Devan is already a little ladies man!

Kim and Jeff's eyes light up every time look at their son.  It is incredibly sweet to watch.

Devan favorite toys are cars and planes.  Only 15 more years until Devan will be driving a car of his own!

Devan had the propeller spinning on this vintage yellow plane.  He was ready for it to take off and fly!

LOVE LOVE LOVE these little curls.
What an adorable family.  All smiles and brimming with love.
Devan didn't know what to think of his birthday ballon!  Should he eat it, pop it, or let it fly?!

He settled for letting it go, reaching for his Very Hungry Caterpillar book instead.
As the photo shoot came to an end, Devan laid down to close his eyes.  Looking this cute was hard work!!  Kim and Jeff, it was wonderful getting to know your family.  I wish your a lifetime full of happy birthdays and plenty of delicious cake on each one!

It's funny to think about how we get from one period in our lives to another.  Sometimes the smallest decisions can have a hand in shaping our entire world.  For Michele and Kyle this is the case.  One summer night on Fire Island, both just happened to tag along on their friend's date.  Michele and Kyle instantly hit it off, staying up until 3 a.m. as they laughed together over a couple of slices of pizza.

Michele and Kyle were married on July 4th, under a sky full of fireworks. One year and two days later, beautiful little Sofia was born.  I asked Michele and Kyle what surprised them most about starting a family.  Michele explained, "I am surprised at how much I used to take everything for granted.  Getting pregnant was easy, so I assumed being a mom would come easy too.  Boy was I wrong!  I have so much respect for parents, even more so than before.  I really look up to my sister.  She has three kids!"  Kyle added, "There is no rule book for parents. You can ask ten different people the same question and get eight different answers!  Everyday is a new adventure and Michele and I are constantly learning. Together."

Last Sunday morning I had the honor of photographing the Fetherolf family outside their apartment in Tribeca. Strolling down the city streets they know like the back of their hand, Michele and Kyle spent a beautiful morning with the most important girl in their lives, little Sofia.

We started the shoot at 7 a..m., right outside the Fetherolf's home.
Michele is actually a photographer herself!  I feel extremely honored she asked me to capture photos of her with her daughter Sofia.  Check out Michele's amazing work here.

Michele, you are such a wonderful mother.

Sofia was a natural in front of the camera!
I am in LOVE with these tiny boots by Zara for Kids.

Sofia is already a city girl at 16 months!  She was the one leading Michele and Kyle around New York City.

You might remember Staple Street from Ali and Nathan's Tribeca engagement session back in July!  The beautiful textures and lines make it one of my favorite places to shoot!

Such a good looking family!

This daddy is absolutely SMITTEN with his little girl.

A quick outfit change had Sofia smiling from ear to ear!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this...oh so much!

When Michele is not walking around the city, she is hailing a cab.
Like mother, like daughter!

Sofia was ready to help mommy touch up her lipstick.  SO ADORABLE!
When it was time to head home, Michele made sure Sofia was bundled up in her stroller with her favorite book.

As Michele and Kyle passed by a favorite restaurants on their way home, a feeling of happiness washed over them.  They knew the memories they were making with Sofia each day would last them a lifetime.

DECEMBER.  It is one of the happiest months of the year.  Christmas is coming and children are brimming over with joy.  At the Didden home, Avery, Tripp and Carson are no exception.  When I arrived at their house Saturday morning, they raced down the steps shouting, "Mom, the photographer is here!"  I smiled, so excited for my first Christmas portraits of the season.  The kids quickly introduced me to their playful dog Cooper and we were ready to begin!

As we made our way around their beautiful home, I couldn't help but be in awe of the incredible kindness Avery, Tripp and Carson were showing to each other.  These three are not only siblings, they are friends, loving each other in a way that makes you smile and think, this is how it should be.

Avery, Tripp and Carson, I feel so blessed to have met you.  What a wonderful Saturday morning!  I especially enjoyed listening to the The Duck Song together over hot chocolate after we finished our photo shoot.  It had me singing for hours after I left! Here is wishing your all a very Merry Christmas!

We started out in front of the newly decorated Christmas tree.  Hiding amongst the branches was their "Elf on the Shelf!
Cooper was all smiles for the family photos!

"To the outside world we all grow old,  but not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were.  We know each other's hearts." -Clara Ortega

LOVE.

There is nothing like being at home for the holidays, wrapped in the arms of those you love.
We ended the family photo shoot in Avery, Tripp and Carson's backyard, just as the sun made it's way over the trees.

This was one of the last frames of the day.  It is one of my favorites, embodying everything children should be feeling this time of year, carefree, overflowing with laughter, and completely happy.

It was early in the morning, September 24th to be exact.  With a level of excitement they had never felt before, Stephanie and John hopped in the car and drove to the hospital.  They were ready to meet their sweet baby for the first time.  As it was two weeks before Stephanie's due date, these soon to be parents quickly called all of their family and friends, passing on the exciting news.  Soon there would be a brand new member of the family.  Around 11 a.m. that fall morning, Olivia Anne Dale made her way out of her mommy's belly and into her loving parents arms.  At 6 pounds, 3 ounces, little Olivia was the most beautiful thing Stephanie and John had ever seen.

Last Thursday I was so blessed to photograph Olivia's newborn pictures at only five days old!  I hope you enjoy the pictures of this beautiful baby girl as much as I do!

Olivia was so excited to have her picture taken, she started dancing in front of my camera!  She is a natural STAR!

This little girl had an endless amount of expressions!  I am totally IN LOVE with the one above.
Stephanie and John holding little Olivia in their arms.  I couldn't help sneaking around the side to grab this picture of her tiny toes!

Snuggled up in a blue Tiffany's box, this baby girl already has impeccable taste.
Olivia's small fingers were constantly grasped around her mommy and daddy's comforting hands.
Half way through the shoot, baby Olivia drifted to sleep.  Here I think it looks like she could be floating on a cloud.
Proud new papa.
There is SO much to LOVE in these two pictures!  Stephanie, you look AMAZING!  Who can fit into a gown five days after giving birth?  You and Olivia look like you belong in another world, one where fairy princesses rule over the kingdom.
Olivia loves her mommy's "push present" almost as much as Stephanie does.  This engraved Tiffany's necklace from John is absolutely beautiful.

Olivia is ready for fall!

Congratulations Stephanie and John on the new addition to you family!  It was an honor capturing memories of Olivia in her earliest days.  I wish you all a life filled with happiness and love!

They call themselves Team Morton and that's what they are.  An unstoppable and truly beautiful team.  Neil, Sharyn Carroll, Roseanna, and Rally are a close knit family with many talents and a heart for sports.

Neil Morton is the man of the house and is extremely passionate about boxing.  This is a good thing since he is the chief executive of Everlast Worldwide, the maker of boxing, mixed martial arts and fitness related sporting goods.  Sharyn Carroll Morton has found success and happiness in creating and designing her own sports fashion line.  The Sharyn Carroll Collection provides style-conscious, performance based apparel for tennis, fitness, yoga, golf, and the spa.  Her clothes can be found in high end boutiques and clubs like Trump National, the Mar-a-Lago Club  in Palm Beach, and Tennis East in East Hampton, NY.  Roseanna Morton just turned 12 this year.  She has found her own love for sports in soccer.  Rally Morton is the newest addition to Team Morton.  She is a lab/weimaraner mix and she couldn't be more adorable.  Together, Team Morton makes up one AMAZING family.

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Team Morton at their home in Chatham, NJ.  Check out some of my favorite family photos below.

Roseanna and Rally make an adorable pair.

Rally could be found kicking her pink and white soccer ball all around the front yard.  She obviously shares Roseanna's passion for soccer.
Sharyn Carroll and Neil were married last December on St. John in the Virgin Islands.  Their love for each other was obvious in the sweet glances they shared all morning.

The family outfits coordinated perfectly.  Sharyn Carroll and Roseanna wore a matching dress and skirt combo from Lilly Pulitzer.

Neil, Sharyn Carroll and Roseanna Morton, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your lives for a day.  You are a beautiful family and I wish you all the happiness in the world.
