Mekina and Kelsey were set up...on a friend date.  Their moms met in Dublin, Texas (the founding town of the "real" Dr. Pepper) and quickly discovered their daughters were living in New York City.  They both agreed the girls HAD to meet.

A week later, Mekina and Kelsey found themselves across the table from each other at Starbucks.  As crazy as this situation sounds, they hit it off on every level! (Well...except for the fact that Kelsey likes cats.)  The girls quickly bonded over their love for broadway, fashion, and spicy guacamole.  When the night was over, Mekina hopped on the train and Kelsey caught a cab.  Mekina dialed her mom and told her what a wonderful night she had. Kelsey called her boyfriend and explained she felt like she had found a genuine friend.   Over a year later, Mekina and Kelsey's friendship is stronger than ever, thanks to a mutual love for one another, and plenty of spicy guacamole.

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing Mekina and Kelsey on a beautiful fall day in Central Park. What better way to spend the day than with a true friend?

Mekina has quickly adjusted to city life and is looking more beautiful than ever!
Fast forward one year and Mekina is the godmother of little baby Mitzi, Kelsey's sweet chihuahua.

You two are so ADORABLE together!
Kelsey attended FIT in NYC and currently works at Mulberry.  I totally and completely envy her fashion sense.

Isn't the bridge across from the Reservoir breathtakingly gorgeous?

Mekina and Kelsey, thank you for a fun fall day in New York City.   Your friendship is beautiful, just like you two!

  1. I loved every minute of this day... Definitely hit the charts for my most favorite/memorable times in NYC and you captured it effortlessly. I am so thankful for you and how your talents shine!

  2. These pictures are gorgeous! As are the girls in them! Great job Amy!
